The project aims to develop risk awareness and participation of citizens and stakeholders. The work plan of the project includes three case studies in three different areas, one in Germany, one in Austria and one in Italy, with the aim to study participatory and decision-making process on the planning and implementation of prevention plans, and governance of hydraulic risk, stimulating participation and adoption of best practices that constitute a reference point in Europe. As Italian case study was chosen Chiascio valley.

  • Tributary of the Tiber
  • The river originates at an altitude of 850 m above sea level and after 95 km it flows into the Tevere river
  • The challenge future is to increase awareness of local populations and share the need for virtuous behaviour

The project has prepared a questionnaire to collect between the people of the valley Chiascio information about perception and people's awareness on flood risk, and participation in discussion and public initiatives on the subject.
